Know What It Is To Originate

Setting up the Britney Spears piece for a gold leaf treatment. I had finished the main portion of this piece some time back, but hadn't done anything for the frame yet. So I constructed one out of balsa. This is some of the balsa a bought at clearance a while back a Hobby Lobby total steal on them... I bought everything they had outright.

Added a coat of red guilding primer and then after it had cured I added the adhesive cured that and applied the foil.

Come See The Great

Washing out screen I did the Kurt Russell piece with. Can't use this for any other projects... just that painting.

None So Like Him As Ourself

Wrapped up the Kurt Russell piece last night. And it's ready to got over to the Plaza Theatre for the premiere of "Big Trouble In Little China" - EPIC CARPENTER

Also dropped off a new batch of donut paintings for above the bar at ElMyr. These ones are pretty choice.

With the piece before we go see the film.

Shoes Are Out The Way

So I finished painting the piece during the week. It's a mix of silk screen and oil painting. I had to come up with a way to attach the baseball caps so they wouldn't come apart from the panel. Some small pegs and fishing line did the trick.

Restriction In Trade

ZOMBIE WALK 2009
Doing up make-up at Tracy's house.

At the walk with the rest of the zombies... Grrrr. Even made the AJC web page... NICE.

ElMyr for lunch after the big walk with friends. Matt, Judson, Tracy and Linton share a table on the porch.

Then me and Tracy went out and scared people all night long drinking the whole night long.

Sitting With The Big Man

Playing around with all the elements. I need to build the metals for the jacket. I've already started with the large silver one you always see on Napoleon. I lucked out and found a great Christmas ornament that I was able to reconfigure to my liking.

Also recieved my real sword finally. I had purchased a youth plastic sword thinking I could retool it to my liking, but it broke into four pieces as soon as I swung it. Yup... garbage. So I went out and found a Napoleonic Era replic sword. Good stuff.

Metals are finished... just the last minute touches. Zombie walk is tomorrow.

And now for hat #2. I'm gonna do the same process as the first... this one is just abit more elaborate with the 2 colors.

Those are finished... time to get cooking on the painting itself.

More Frank About It

Was able to rework the front of the jacket into a form that I'm pretty happy with with relative ease. The problem with the original cut is that there is no way to you the classic Napoleon hand in the vest. The new cut lets you work that vest. Way better.

I also reworked all the buttons on the vest and began to wear it down to a more "dead wore" appearance.

WAIT... I already know what you are going to say about Photo #2.

Lighten Up The Meadows

Tonight I tailored the drop and fold of the collar and stitched it into place. This helped to keep it more forming to my neck height. I added revised trim work to the entire jacket and added a few embelishments to the jacket. I also added large bands of velcro to the shoulders that will then take to epelletts.

Tomorrow I'm going to rework the entire front of the jacket. It's just totally wrong.
