I've Got 32 Years Under My Belt

ALL DAY PARTY!!! I ended up rocking it hard at El Myr yesterday with friends from 3pm all the way till 3am... a full 12 hours of good times and drama.

Heather & Steven... Steven was looking rather dapper this evening for once...

Nate showing off how many people he's killed in his 31 years

Brad rocking the 'GOOD TIME' was spinning the jams all nite long

Nate inspects the padel after a good set of ass woop'n

My Aunt Sue sent me one of the best gifts I've ever gotten. It's a collection of my Grandfather Art's playboy calendars 1962 - 1984... all in near mint condition. Totally gorgeous!!! His Playboy magazine collection to my sha'grin, got thrown away when I was just a kid after my grandfather passed away, so these calendars are a real treasure for me!!

Zipzz.. Zizz Zahh

Note to self, but more so... a note to my future children (the Internet never dies).
-
"Be careful what name you give yourself on your business card." While Thomas is my professional name (on card), my heart aches everytime a friend refers to me as Thomas instead of Tom. This may be due to a lack of "hanging out" with these people I deem friends.. my own too busy fault. However... there are a number of women who also call me Thomas as well. Now while I find this totally endearing and really really (third-time) really hot... They are refering to me on a mother-based level and thus, this can become disturbing or very good in their favor depending on the woman (see Oedipus Complex). It's Freud speak and it's fact to me and it either works or doesn't. (Don't mess with Freud!) Anyways... I've always judged friendship on the level of name recognition.
-
While it is handy to judge folks on what they call you in the immediate 'I can't see who just called my name factor', ... It's also a great and simple way to determine the 'know' factor when you walk though a crowd. Your professional name can kill you if you don't tell the folks who are close, what you want to be called... but hey it's the 90's so.... Ohh shoot wait... The 90's are gone... Must be getting old.
-
Anyways children... point is... 'Do what you want... call yourself what you will'... just don't shame the Schaefer name! Your mother, probably called me Thomas, before she called me Tom, before she called me 'You Fucking Asshole!!', before she called me the greatest thing she ever slept with.. before she called me, as I do her 'The Most Important Person I Shared My Life With". There is nothing wrong with being a Romantic and living life as such kids. It will help either keep you out of trouble or in serious trouble... depending on your mood (smile). Most importantly a romantic attitude will help you meet the right person one day. Dedication to oneself is paramont to finding a person of equal mind whom you're willing to give up everything you dedicated your life toward... that is love.
-
That is love.

I Ain't No Joaquin Phoenix

This could be the best/worst thing I have ever seen...

Ohh it gets better... watch him fall on his ass!

No it's really really him!!! I think he may be bordering on genius... I'm not sure.

I Don't Mind Sucking You Off

Yup... Yeah ... Uh-huh... make a face... I know I did!

Dear god Kate... what's going on baby... you're only 2 years older than me! Stop hanging out with that Leo character... he's sucking the life out of you obviously!!

The Head Of Small Talk

Tonight I have finally acquired a copy of the Ronnie Littell Special. It has taken 2 years worth of travel to the Buffalo area... but now we have it and the truth will soon be revealed.

How to steal Google Earth content for projects and other fun stuff. Thats right... taping up paper onto my monitor as a reference frame... how old school is this! Working tonight on this IntelliTEAM piece for client... it's a total gas, let me tell ya!

The Spin Cycle Rolls On

Just need to admit to myself that I am over-worked right now. I've taken on too many tasks in too small a window. I'm creating my own stress. I need to be a better manager of my time.

Put Those Stamps On The Letters

-
Holiday season has me in kind of a funk. Might be the fact that I have too many projects going on at once or maybe that winter is a cold and lonely season. Probably the first, but the last still sticks and twists right between my fixed and floating ribs. It's been mentioned on several occasions that I've kept the personal life out of this blog the past 2 years. Yeah pretty true.. this thing was meant to be a catalog of ideas for my work. What I didn't expect, but should have known would happen, is that the work and reality portions would mix on here too. It makes perfect sense since most of the work is themed around personal issues anyways. Yeah... no content for 2 years... how it goes. I'll have to stick with it till the end of this year. Next year may be different thought. It's been strange times these past 2 though. Everyone I know is either married, getting married, having kids, with kids, getting divorced or something else outside of my realm. And as I get older I realize that that whole side of life hasn't hit me as of yet and it's a rather depressing thing. Going out and doing anything with my friends tends to be a drag for me because at the end of the night I get to share an endearing conversation with myself as I head back home. Standing around at parties with my friends and their husbands and wives and such can make you ask yourself "This isn't me because?" People are always saying how lucky I am to be single again and blah blah blah. Let me tell you something... it gets real old real quick. Sure most of my heros were single as well, but I have a suspicion they had the same attitude as me... when does it end. Married friends tell me they know of these great ladies they want me to meet. Divorced friends tell me to stay single.... they're bitter I know and they have that right, but at least they can be bitter. I'm reduced to getting personal on a blog thats supposed to be about my work... and sadly this is part of the work. Definitely a reflection of things I'm producing... or not producing. I'd say my mental state can be understood by the amount of work I produce in a given year... or better, the number of correspondences I send out in a given year. Barker complained the other day that he hasn't gotten anything from me in the mail for ages... it's a reflection on me and the way things are for sure and it hurts. I figured I'd be a happier person this year... I'm working out everyday. I'm eating better. I'm learning new skills. I'm building out the studio. My business with Cherrylipped is taking off... it's been a great year. But at the end of every day there is still a sigh that comes out of me and I know it's not because the day was difficult... it's just a sigh about the state of things and the parties and shows I didn't go to.
-
So I spent a good number of hours this week going back into this blog to fix some PHP transition errors and get some things more organized on my servers home directory and weed out things that don't link anymore and such (Tyfoon CMS is now up and running! Thanks Nic!!!!) . It was a painful process that still isn't done as 2007 still needs to have all of it's links re-routed to the proper directory on my server. But yeah.. it was tough going through things again and interesting to see the drop out in 2007 to current. A lot of it made me smile, but there were other portions I wish I could go back and rewrite. Life doesn't let you correct mistakes from the past though and so we live with them. Thankfully most of my mistakes from 2007-2008 aren't on here so I suppose thats a good thing... though you can't learn much from nothin'. Barker wrote me once and told me that after reading the blog from beginning to end one day he was convinced it was one of the most depressing things he ever read. After going through it myself past to current I have to agree. This isn't a very happy place, but there are some things that still make me smile.

Brad rocks the coat-head look at El Myr. Wasn't that cold out there guy...

He Was Only Five Foot Three

Another late night.... rocking out all sorts of fun projects. It's really daunting and frustrating, but I've gotten to one of those points on the project where all the themesand elements are starting to gel... which is a beautiful thing. So it's late... drinking coffee and rocking out to some live sessions from The Modern Lovers. This record is just sick... it's too too wonderful. Yeah it is this months album too... a pretty good one for the month of December I think. Of course it may work better in the month of February... but I need some Modern Lovin' this month so...

Now for that New York subway sound!!

Sitting Up To Eye You

-
Kanka is leaving my mark all around the world again it seems. What a nice fella...
-
Headed home for some Thanks Giving today... lots of good eats in order tomorrow. Always good times. Lots and lots of work going on right now... mostly web as usual. Trying to dig my way out of the mess of content I need to build out. According to the big board it's 7 sites currently in Build-Out phase and then 4 new ones after that. Good stuff.. gonna keep myself busy the rest of this year and into next it seems. I have this huge interactive animated flash movie that I also have produce before the end of the year. I'm not having fun anymore... ha ha ha. Who am I kidding.
-
Production room is finally finished, but I need to get back into the studio after the holiday and get the exposure table built so we can start cranking out t-shirts and posters for next year with some speed. That will be some good times. Shoot I need that button maker back from Harris too... got to get that stuff back to top priority after I wrap up all these other web projects. Seems like I'll have a good amount of time to sit back next year and get back in to art production again.
-
The key of course is getting this sites content system sorted out and posting all the work. But thats the whole point of the production room now... so I guess it's all getting there.

Don't Come A Rockin...Try'n Act So Cool

Thats right... new from Ferrara Pan — "CHEWY Lemon-Head & Friends". Pretty great stuff... they also have CHEWY Fireballs, but I didn't try any of those. Ohh yeah also scored some MAMBAs from the candy racks as well... haven't seen that stuff since I was like 12 back up in Buffalo.
-
Was hanging out at Bothwell's new crib last night ... house warming party and such. Place was packed and then packed some more. Must have been well over 60+ at this little party. Hung outside by the fire most of the night with old Spin Creative types and other loyal friends. Lindy discovered an interesting method of wearing pants when doing the whole fire thing... pretty brilliant stuff. Lots of crazy fools all over the place last night, some pretty cool neighboors hung out by the fire and guzzled beer with us. There was almost a fight at one point and tons of good looking ladies... Ouch.
-
When I was leaving a group of us got caught up in a conversation with some crazy neighborhood lady who was poppin Colt 45's and telling jokes to us in the driveway. She really seemed to have something against Billy D. Williams and when I confronted her on it she said..."Quiet down there Superman I'm trying to tell you'z a story now!" I think she meant it too... though I've never been referred to as Superman before. Maybe she had me mixed up with that Clark Kent guy.

And You've Been So Busy Lately

Yes I have been busy lately... to busy to do anything fun it seems. Nope... haven't sent any postcards recently. Nope... have made any new prints lately. Nope... have finished building the exposure table. But anyways... there is much to to and then there are other things to do on top of that. I've got this double set of white boards staring me down. They look pretty formidable with all the organized gibberish I've written on them. My mission is to erase as much of that board as possible before it over fills with to much work. Filthy... it's just filthy.
-
On an up note I have recently finished building out my reference and completed art storage room. Floor to ceiling shelving all around and a small stand-up table in the center of the room. So I've gotten all the finished pieces out of the studio space finally and into they finalization and archiving room. It's a pretty smart set-up since my office is right next to the space... so pulling refernce materials to build up this site will happen really fast now. Good stuff.
-
Anyways... tonight or well this morning arleady i suppose I'm up late working on a web site for a client... yup... Good stuff.

Lonesome Lines And 7-UP Trucks

Hanging out in line to vote early today. So I've been standing for about 3 hours now and am really close to getting into the building to cast my ohh so important vote. Hanging with David thankfully, so the wait hasn't been as tedious as it could have been. After we go vote were gonna go drink and eat chicken wings... good stuff indead.
-

-
LATER THAT DAY:
So after standing in line for just under 4 hours, I was able to proudly cast my vote for Mr. John McCain. We hit the Taco Mac at exactly 2:01PM to which I let out a bemussed FUCK... As I bet Dave, a shot of Patron, we'd hit the bar just before 2PM. So a few shots later I'm sitting here sipping on a beer, cruising the laptop... Dealing with clients and looking at the latest info concerning the polls and am happy to see that McCain is pulling away in Florida. Things are looking good for Cherrylipped Studios next year, we will probably start hiring onto the crew for the first time... McCain will pull it out and the Marxist can go back to his cream cheese filled speeches and reneged promises. Good trip you young fool. Maybe you should have put the 3 Million you spent on your bullshit infomercial that aired last night toward the people in need you keep preaching about... But if you were smart you would have used that money promoted a product that would clean the dirt from my carpet or maybe a shoe horn with teeth.

Attack Stance Built To Work

Chillin out at ElMyr this afternoon. Was actually here last night for a good while with friends, but one can never get enough I this place. None of the guys are here today... They are all off building their epic float for the Halloween parade in Little 5 Points... It's Saturday so I'll post some photos of that for sure. They are doing a Muppet Show themed float... Good stuff.
-
So I'm sitting here waiting on Kanka and his slowness... Ohh well... The girls are keeping me occupied looking at this really retarded web site, cuteoverload.com..... I can't belive someone actually maintains a site that is this cheesy. Incredible!!

There Is This Breeze From My Rear Window

I was working all last week and missed the Wendy skating event. Though I'm glad I missed it because Bruce got real BLACK/BLUE ouch. Sorry for lack of blog stuff... and also.. nuff said.

Awww man... busy working with Arobase Group today... downtown in Buckhead with the whole crew. Bringing things to life and that sort. Evil run-around science kind-a stuff.

This is so great. People are totaling ragging me on this already. It's going better than I even planned within the first 6-hours. Linton hooked me up this number and almost got into it with some dude too. 29 days out of Halloween and I think this will be one of my best scare tactics against these cathode ray tube kiddies yet.... well that is unless I had an Obama sign to put out there instead. Serious candy at my house this year kids. It's all art folks... ohh and enjoy the flowers, lemonade is really good during the winter especially when it's warmed... seriously. Just follow the cards instructions and save the wonderful flowers so I can complete the project. Shit ain't cheap now, so come-on...

Late Worry This Way

Standing at the baggage claim area waiting on some friends to arrive. This airport always takes forever to get their folks off of planes. I probably shouldn't have shown up when I did but I figured I was late enough... Guess not. Either that or try are standing around outside looking for me... Who knows. As soon as they grab their bags we are off the El Myr so they really need to hurry the hell up.
-
Hung out with a couple friends last night, Jean & Micheleh. Got drunk at O'Terrils pub early in the day and then brought the party back to my place for after hours fun. Good times all round. Conversation ran from Internet technology to sneakers and baseball hats.... Amongst other things. To much Hieniken and such.... But what is one to do.

Relationships With Pilgrimage

If I ever get to be like this pretentious asshole... please someone shoot me. I can't believe people even listen to anything Jonathan Meese has to say. "Idon't really know how I got here." Ohh really... me either.

I'm A Giant Duck

People are always saying that there is something really wrong with me when I tell them that I'm totally infatuated with Sandra Bernhard. Damn it I don't care what people think of me... she is hot. Maybe it's the attitude... maybe it's her lips.

Chillin' at the office today... working working. The plan is to launch cherrylipped.com TONIGHT. Just have a few things to finish (copy writing) and then it's ready to go. It's pretty exciting seeing that I have been tooling with this new site for almost a year and just rewrote all the code for it (basically rebuilding it from scratch) just last month. But it's getting ready to launch and thats a good thing indeed. I've been getting inundated with jobs requests that I haven't been able to get to my own stuff. But I made a decision that CL.com had to get done before TAS.com because that's where the money is coming from.

So in other news today I see that some guy has popped up claiming that his stepfather who died in 2006 was the Zodiac Killer. Pretty interesting stuff... even has the FBI looking into the claim. And the Zodiac is none other than Tarrance Kaufman. This case just never seems to go away.

Search For The Premium Helix

Busy day at the home office today. Contracts to write-up, projects to wrap-up and others to get underway.
-
Tonight I'm chillin out at MF Buckhead (local sushi joint and Arobase Group client) with some friends, Sheri, Julie, Nellie & Ashley. Going to enjoy myself some sushi, saki, and beer. Here a bit early so I'm hanging at the bar chatting up Chris, one of the owners. Pretty impressive place... I always frequent the MF in downtown, so heading out into Buckhead territory is not something, I do if ever.
-
My friends arrive.
-
So I've been to MF a lot... I know how prices are. However tonight, some were shocked to see that we had drank (2) bottles of saki... no big deal right... well they were $150 each... which is something I knew was totally possible at this place. Not that this was any issue... Uncle Tom had money to throw at a problem and so did Aunt Sheri... but it was funny to hear the whole table squeal in disgust at the lack of information concerning the matter. And I have to agree/disagree with them... AGREE: When a waitress tells you they have a special bottle of something they are offering... normally it's some sort of deal. DISAGREE: Normally they'd tell you, "Well sir thats $150 per bottle"... haven't ever seen that... I've been out to dinners with friends, family, and dear god clients a good bit myself and have been put in a number of situations with 'over-priced' bottles of ... let's call it 'smiles for all', but I've never freaked out.... just paid the man my bill. But I must agree... it would be nice for some person of knowing to say... "Hey that's $150 a bottle". Sure it would be nice, but as the consumer that's your responsibility, not the seller. Drink it ya buy it. Speaking of which I have a half bootle sitting in front of me now and no one to drink it with... what ever happened to that pretty little better-half I used to date in the past... she was a good little saki partner in crime... ohh well.
-

-
The night was still fun... and the food was great as usual for MF. I was surprised to see that the menu between it and Midtown differ... which was a nice change... made me ponder my choices. The other surprise being the poor fool who was tossing his guts in front of me as I made my way to the rest room. Yikes.. poor fellow. Looks like he had eaten 10 quarter pounders with cheese before he he sprayed that mess. Ohh well, it happens to the best of us, hopefully he did it before his glorious meal at the alway great MF Sushi. Maybe he's on one of those new-fangled diets I keep hearing about.
-
And I post these new stories because....

A Thousand Ways To Stop

Lunch downtown at the new Mello Mushroom with David, Rick, Brad and Terrance. Damn this weather is nice... Finally seems like the summer is behind us and the fall has arrived. This place is strange... They don't even sell pizza by the slice at this one... Ohh well spinich salad for me anyways.
-
I should have known that when hanging out with a bunch of tech geeks, that the tech lingo would be thick. Terrance the 'Die Hard PC Guy' is having it out again with David ' Mac Guru'. I must have heard this same argument a few hundred times... David is always right ... PC's suck...Mac's rule... and he's damn righty. Always a hoot.

And So Here We Go Again

Another evening at the immortal and illusive El Myr - Bruce and Wendy are in the house tonight... Patty just sauntered in. The antics for this visit began with my obligitory walk thru the door... "Thomas" then 2 steps in Wendy is in question mode over my participation in her roller birthday extravaganza... Buses leave at 9pm... Are you in! Well he'll yeah I'm in... Not much can tear me away from a drunken roller rink extravaganza... As long as there are free skates... There isn't much to pull me away. Tully shots follow and the bar erupts with conversations of couple skates. Ahh the
couple skate... There is nothing more exciting to me (inside a roller rink... Unless we are in a back room) than the couple skate. It's like 7th grade sex in motion and that's really exciting. I'm serious... People forget about the little things to much... The
holding of a hand, the unassuming glance... It's a highly sexually charged experience, especially when you are over the age of 30. Shit it's hot... Trust me. It's on the level of helping your sweetheart bowl... There is this a really amazing connection that occurrs
when you and your lady are charged together with a set of 10 pins in front of you... I think it's ten. It's a 'cute overload'... What else can I say. But anyways fools talking about
skating and I'm talking bowling... Agh it's the same white folk shit. So I'm still sitting here and such. Just got asked what constitutes a
Texas margariti.... Well I ain't from Texas... Barker is and he knows this shit not me. Hurt.

Bolster Your Meandering

Why's everybody on my case suddenly over this blog stuff. I thought my life was pretty uneventful over the past year or two. So what's the sense in talking about my daily exploits. Granted I have left out a good two years worth of quality material... Which now I technically have no way to go back and reference. So outside of the occational road trip, gallery show, hours working in my studio, hours programing in my office, exploits with strange women, time spent wandering thru strange flee markets, traffic accidents, bar room scuffles, bouts with the drink, adventures at ElMyr, adventures at the Starlight and my general sneaking around town to attend events and shows, there really isn't all that much to write about. Well there has been, but everyone needs a little me time. Being on the go always makes it difficult to post new entries and photos. Two years ago I sat at a desk job 9-5, week in week out. I left a world where all my time was spent making mass mailer postcards or writing the daily entry in the blog... when my desk wasn't piled full of everyones workload. But since then things have changed and I'm on the go most of the time. In the past I could never say that I'm currently standing on the 22nd floor of one of my clients office buildings looking at this view while I type this and then snap a picture and place it after this sentence like this.

Of course now it seems I can thanks to some new technology. So alright... Maybe I have been lazy... maybe times have changed... things aren't what they used to be which is always a good thing... well sometimes. Maybe now I can find the time to document things on this blog again. Maybe I'll stop worrying about building other peoples blogs and websites and concentrate on my own once again. We'll see... but I'm obviously gonna have to recode something here so these darn pictures look bigger when I do a mobile post... that's a given.
