6. Rewrite Signs in Public Places

Language is plastic. Recast it. A sign that says “AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY” becomes “THOSE WHO KNOW.” Use stickers, markers, white-out, razors. “NO TRESPASSING” becomes “PRIVATE LAND IS A MYTH.” Make the official feel suspect. Make the passerby pause.
