Different Will

At The Variety to see THEE OHH SEES with Nikki and our badass Venezuelans. What an amazing show!! I've seen them a number of times and am always blown away every time. Merch was not the best... but the embroidered patch was so choice. Had to buy! Drinks and antics at CT after the show.. of course.

Break Habit

One of the artists in the group show was John Lawrence Carroll — #makeblackoutpoetry. He was doing an event tonight at the show, teaching folks how to make their own Black Out poetry. Mine is meant to be read aloud so I can give it a certain cadence. John said he hadn't thought of that.

Also happy to meet a new donut owner. They came out for Black Out... but as exhibitions go, so does the work — although not until the show closes on the 31st. #owners #captured

Grew Up

Building Carved

And presto! The donut paintings are done, and the group show is hung.

Nikki curated the show and did an amazing job pulling together a killer lineup of established Atlanta artists—some FAF folks, some street art folks, and local fine art folks. I hung the show... after taking mine down the day before. No-sleep turnarounds.

Tomorrow’s opening is a soft one — but we’re planning a hardcore closing on the 31st. Should be amazing.

Popular Outing

Evening at The Fox with Nikki to see NIN. The fact that the tickets were free... thanks to the eleven Hendrick’s Gin & Tonics I drank at the CT anniversary party to win them.

(Yes, eleven.)

But aside from that, the show was incredible. Trent even brought out a tenor sax at one point. Felt like I was in high school again.

Penned Woods

Performed the ritual burying of the 72 frames (+4 AP) this evening. First, the set of 36 (+2) black frames went down, followed by the 36 (+2) orange frames placed on top.

Once they were covered, I performed a ritual consisting of 72 banishings and 72 invocations. I won’t get into the details of the ritual—nor who or what I was banishing and invoking—but it went on for several hours.

After completing the ritual, I left the frames buried overnight before unearthing them for the next phase of the process.

Taped Everything

Did some reconfiguration and knolling of the studio shelves this evening. Just playing around with configurations and cleaning things up.

Something Responsive

Went with Nikki to The Earl tonight to see one of my favorites—OUGHT—and they did not disappoint. Scored a killer shirt and finally got some vinyl signed.

Tribal Downtown

Stopped by DragonCon today... lost my 1-Day pass, but took on the persona of Warhol thanks to a borrowed wig from Nick. Got a few staircase shots in character.
